A Monmouth Comprehensive School pupil has been chosen to be an official carrier of the Olympic Torch as it travels through Monmouthshire on Friday 25th May.
Year 12 student George Ryley was nominated by the school to carry the torch in a process that saw just under 100,000 people apply to The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG).
Each applicant had to provide evidence to demonstrate how sport and the values of the Olympics have helped their life, and how they have inspired others in the school and local community.
