A five-man team backed by Newport-based EADS Innovation Works won the gruelling Three Peaks Yacht Race at only the second attempt.
The team was led by Gary Clayton, who lives at The Narth, near Trellech, who manages the Foundation Wales research and development project involving EADS, the Welsh Assembly Government and Cardiff University, took four and a half days to complete the mammoth event, in which they finished second last year. They beat 31 other teams.
