A FAMILY who were allegedly asked to leave a Newport store while trying to buy a water feature have been helped by an Usk business.

The Bindon family were reportedly shopping for a water feature at The Range in Newport when an altercation with another customer led to them being asked to leave the store.

The alleged incident, which took place last week, apparently left six-year-old Leo and nine-year-old Logan, who are both autistic, distressed.

Kate Morris, of Morris’ of Usk Garden Centre, told the Beacon that she “wanted to help” after being touched by the story.

“We feel very passionate about handicapped children, and we just wanted to try and make it a happy ending for them,” she said.

The garden centre team spent the afternoon with the family, presenting a water feature to Leo, Logan and dad Anthony free of charge on Monday (5th September).

“As a family business we felt so sorry for them,” she added.

“We just wanted to do something to help.”
