SIR Following the recent damning headlines in the Monmouthshire Beacon of 17th December I feel I must write in defence of Gibraltar House Care Home (GHCH). While it is undoubtedly true that the home has several areas needing improvement it is also true that the home provides an excellent service in many ways. My mum, who is 95 and suffers from dementia and acute deafness, has lived at the home since July 2013. She is happy and contented, the care staff do an excellent job in looking after her daily needs and she is treated with dignity and respect. Keith Wallis (Relative to a happy and contented resident of GHCH)
