A CAR wash and fun day last Saturday (29th March) raised over £1150 for a Portskewett toddler to walk unaided.

Two-and-a-half year old Imogen Ashwell-Lewis has spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy, meaning her ability to walk unaided is restricted.

£40,000 needs to be raised for the tot to receive Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) treatment which would reduce the spasticity in her legs.

A car wash to raise money for Imogen was held at Chepstow's Tesco with the Chepstow fire crew on hand to wash Monmouthshire's grubby cars.

More than £150 was raised for Imogen at this event with plenty of cars on site for the fire crew to wash.

A fun day for Imogen was held at the Severn View Club in Caldicot on the same day and raised over £1000

Children enjoyed the bouncy castle, burger van and face painting along with snacks and games.

Imogen's mother, Catherine Ashwell-Rice said: "The day went really well and we're now over the £10,000 mark.

"Imogen enjoyed her day, especially the bouncy castle."
