BACK in 1980 local musician Colin Tully, then living in his native Glasgow, was asked by film director Bill Forsyth to write the music for his new film, Gregory's Girl. Bill's first film, That sinking feeling, which Colin had written music for had met with only regional success. So it was with wide-eyed astonishment that Colin watched Gregory's Girl become one of the best loved films of the last century. The music he had written had a jazz flavour but with a strong Scottish accent reflecting the film's location. Colin put a band together, Sensorium, which still keeps the Scottish accent within a jazz format. The band, which over the past decade has charmed many an audience with its melodic and accessible Celtic-Jazz sound is coming to Monmouth's Savoy Theatre on Saturday, April 19th at 8pm. Tickets available on the door or in advance from D S Music, Agincourt Square.
