After almost 10 years service as a bus driver for Monmouthshire County Council, Terry Mackerness is retiring at the end of July.

Terry is a well-known face on the W3, W4 and W5 routes around Monmouth town but he has also driven the Grass Routes and school buses.

He even gave up his seat for Santa Claus to drive the bus at Christmas time.

Terry drove the town buses throughout the Pandemic period and has become a friend to his many passengers. He is well respected and been helpful to those who use the town services.

The Friends of the 65 bus and all of his passengers would like to wish Terry well in his retirement as he steps down on July 29.

“He is always reliable and considerate, he will be missed. Good luck and thank you, Terry” added Rosemary, Brian and Jane on behalf of the Friends group.
