I was incensed when Councillor Bob Greenland said: "For those over 60, paying £1.80 in the school holidays while enjoying free swimming in term time seems reasonable under the circumstances." We disagree.

Those over the age of 60 who swim regularly would have to pay nearly £13 a week during the three months of holidays each year, equivalent to a 10 per cent increase in council tax aimed directly at a small group of older people, and most cannot afford this.

Stop having your Pimm's and canapés out of our council tax at meetings Councillor Greenland, that seems a lot more reasonable under the circumstances.
