MONMOUTH Golf Club is offering a free round in a bid to entice newcomers to the sport.

Up until Sunday 18th April, a number of tee times have been reserved each day for golfers to test their skills at no cost at the course, arguably the prettiest in Wales.

This initiative – called Golf Awareness Week – has been launched in conjunction with Golf Development Wales to encourage beginners to take up the sport, and nomadic golfers to consider joining the club (a wide range of membership packages are on offer).

Free 'taster' golf lessons are also being offered by Monmouth's resident PGA professional Richard Ballard.

Further details are available from club manager/secretary Peter Tully on 01600 712212.
