Two adults and two children were taken to hospital after a crash near Caldicot last Sunday (21st September). The collision took place on the Crick Road between Crick and Shirenewton, near the entrance of the Wye Valley Archery Centre, and involved a blue Peugeot 208 which was travelling northbound and a black Ford Focus going in the other direction. There were three occupants of the Peugeot – a 42-year-old man and two girls aged six and eight – all from the Bristol area. The man and the six-year-old girl received serious injuries and were taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital. They are in a stable condition. The eight-year-old girl was not injured. There were four occupants of the Ford Focus – a 30-year-old man who received serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital; a 29-year-old female who received minor injuries; an 11-year-old boy who received serious injuries and was taken to the University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff, and a seven-year-old girl who received minor injuries. All are local and all of those injured are in a stable condition. Anyone who saw the collision, or either car beforehand, is asked to call Gwent Police on 101.
