Ross Town Reserves travelled to play Wooferton Reserves on Saturday, January 26th, and came away with an excellent 0 - 2 win. Playing against the wind in the first half, Town started slowly, but after about ten minutes they settled in to their passing game and played some very good football, creating several good chances. Town's first goal came midway through the first half. Cookie Carr ran at the home defence and was hauled down inside the penalty box. He calmly picked himself up and slotted the resulting penalty home off the inside of the post. The score remained the same until half time. In the second half the game was well contested, and town found it harder in the early period to get the ball down and play their passing game. The second goal came after an hour. Good build-up play ended with a shot from Paul Burnham. The ball deflected off a defender and into the net. Town possibly had the best chances for the remainder of the game with John Leech having an excellent drive just tipped over by the home keeper. Final score 0 - 2.
