CHEPSTOW Garden Centre held its first ever food festival over the bank holiday weekend, attracting around 3,000 customers. The festival was a celebration of over 20 local food and drink producers, including ice cream from Brookes Dairy, and a licensed bar from Severn Cider. Held over Saturday and Sunday, music was played by local jazz band ‘The JAZZ LadZZ’, and local guitarist Gareth Westwood.
Chepstow Fire Station provided a fire engine, and children were allowed to climb aboard and meet the firefighters. A raffle raised £162 for the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which supports the children of deceased soldiers.
Centre Manager Richard Dartnell stated how “the event was a fantastic success, which attracted a whole range of different people. For a first time event, it went very well, bringing together the different areas of the Garden Centre, as well as celebrating local businesses and producers. We look forward to our next one!"
