MADAM,

Just shopping in Monmouth the other day I was delighted to see the floral displays in and around Agincourt Square, The Shire Hall, The Punch House and The King’s Head. Thank you! No wonder the area is so busy, it just makes you want to be there and to join in. 

Maybe Monnow Street could realise just what it is that makes shoppers want to be involved. I would like to suggest to the county planners to have an up and down driving route along the centre of Monnow Street so that shop owners could expand from their frontages as they do in France and have proper street furniture where shoppers and visitors can sit and admire our wonderful town. Then parking could be on a very small area of Vauxhall fields with a small bridge over the river for people to walk straight into the town centre.

Is it just a dream or could it be a reality?
