Childminders and children from Caldicot enjoyed a trip to Monmouth Fire Station last Tuesday (10th December).
Firefighter Wayne Vaughan and crew manager Kurt Pearce allowed the children to explore their fire-fighting equipment; they saw the uniform, tried on their hats, heard the sirens, watched a hose demonstration, and sat in the fire engines.
The children and childminders want to say a big 'thank you' to the fire crew who showed them around the fire station; they all had a fantastic morning.
The trip was organised by Rachel Spaven, a childminder from Raglan, as part of one of her monthly themes in which she introduces her clients' children to all manner of subjects and activities.
It was also a great opportunity to meet other professional childminders from across the county, forging links for future events.
