SOUTH Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called out to a building in Monnow Street Monmouth yesterday (February 17) after receiving reports of a dangerous structure on the high street.

“SWFRS received a call at approximately 4.49pm to reports of a dangerous structure on Monnow Street, Monmouth.

“Crews from Monmouth attended the scene and removed a pane of glass from a window using a ceiling hook and 10.5M ladder.

“STOP message was received around 5.14pm.”

Before the fire service were in attendance a Monmouth resident was seen to be cleaning up some of the glass which had fallen, preventing it from posing a further health and safety risk to the public.

The post on Monmouth New Business, said: “ [A] Window just fell onto footpath!! Really dangerous. How has this building been allowed to get to this state. Be careful when passing.”
