Ross Cricket Club's Sunday XI entertained Kington CC at home at The Park in the Catley Staite League on Sunday, June 8th, on a very hot and sunny afternoon. Kington won the toss and elected to bat first.  A fine opening spell by the Ross bowling attack of Andrew Bevan, 8 overs, 3 maidens, 16 runs and Iain Howie, 8 overs, 4 maidens, 4 for 19, kept the Kington scoring rate down and it took some stronger middle order batting from Ben George, Richard Thorne and Nick Evans to allow Kington to put up a competitive total of 184. The opening batsmen for Ross CC scored at an excellent run rate and ran very well to put on 60 for the first wicket. Jack Evans went on to score 59 and they were seen home with three overs to spare by Rob Kyle and Harry King who scored 45 not out.
