On Saturday 28th February, 7.30 pm at St Mary’s Priory Church, Monmouth Male Voice Choir will be joined by Worcester Male Voice Choir for a spectacular St David’s day concert. The evening will be a joyous tribute to all things Welsh (and you may even hear some songs in English too)!

The town’s male choir, now boasting over 80 choristers, promise the audience a night of passion and hwyl. You will surely have a tear or two in the eye when they raise the roof with Welsh classics like Calon Lan, Gwinllan, Gwahoddiad and Llanfair. Year on year this vibrant choir go from strength to strength. They are now comfortable performing on the grandest of stages having sung the anthems at the Principality Stadium, performed for the United States Ambassador in Regent’s Park and will be making their third appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in June, during the prestigious London Welsh Festival of Male Choirs.

The evening provides a return visit for the men of Worcester, Monmouth having enjoyed a wonderful evening of song in College Hall, Worcester back in September when the host choir put on Songs Across the Marches. Worcester Male Voice Choir is a long-established vibrant and growing choral ensemble bringing together men from across Worcestershire who share a passion for singing in rich four-part harmony. Known for their warm community spirit and polished performances, the choir are under the leadership of Musical Director Scott Woolfenden with Accompanist James MacDowall-Scott.

It is planned to bring the two choirs together during the evening for a couple of numbers so the audience can expect to be wowed by over 100 voices on stage. This is definitely an evening not tobe missed.
