Devauden is lighting up the sky to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its free bonfire night, with a spectacular display on Sunday 5th November.

Every year the event has grown and gained a reputation as being one of the the biggest and best shows in the area.

The whole evening is organised and run by villagers who give up their time to help to raise money for local charities, and rely on the generosity of visitors to make a donation on entry.

This year, live music will be provided by The Beatles Go On, a tribute group to the fab four.

Come and see them play in the Cavern and enjoy the enduring sound of the 60s.

Home cooked food, burgers, hot dogs, doughnuts and crepes are available plus a fully stocked bar.

Children will also be able to have fun in the flood lit play area adjoining the Village Hall field, where the bonfire will be lit.

Gates open at 5pm, the bonfire with be lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks start at 7pm.

One of the organisers Michael Layzell said: “It’s one of the highlights of the year. Local residents have always teamed up to bring a really enjoyable event to hundreds of families and this year will be no exception”.
