A CANDLELIT procession headed by Father Christmas drew the crowd to Agincourt Square for carols and festive entertainment last Thursday (8th December).

With Monmouth Comprehensive’s wind players providing the musical accompaniment, children and parents carrying glow candles walked from Monnow Bridge to the Christmas tree outside the Shire Hall where Overmonnow School choir sang Henrietta and penny whistlers played Rohan.

The popular Monmouth Town Band played carols, Santa gave out Christmas presents and there was even some snow for excited children to feel that Christmas is well and truly here.

Baptist Minister Jonathan Greaves took the role of MC and Rotary club members helped the event to run smoothly.
