Nigel Drew produced a storming drive to take a superb seventh overall, 3rd in class and top local honours on last weekend's Walters Arena Complex/Acorn Travel Neath Valley Stages.
Five stages totalling 40 miles were on offer in the complex and rain in the proceeding days had left conditions extremely treacherous.
Drew, who was co-driven by his nephew Craig, the newly crowned American Rally Champion in the Kettle Civils/ Hawthorn Pet and Animal Supplies Impreza, had a trouble-free run.
"Absolutely over the moon, it was great to have Craig alongside me," said Nigel.
"It was a really tough event, I must try and do a few more events now, and thanks to Mark and Nick for servicing."
Mark Griffiths and Tom Marrott in the PR Finishers Escort had a superb run to 12th overall and 2nd in class.
In fact they tied on time with class rivals Geriant Mills and Jonny Evans in the Manta but lost out as the Manta crew were quickest on the opening test.
Griffiths had opened a slight class lead over the first four stages to lead by just four seconds going into the final 12-mile test but admitted to being too cautious on the last test.
