SIR,
A copy of a letter sent to Ms Kellie Beirne regarding Monmouth market.
Dear Ms Beirne,
I hope you had a nice holiday weekend.
Thank you for inviting people's comments regarding the venue of the twice-weekly market held in Monmouth.
Please find enclosed 11 such comments and letters.
There are literally dozens more letters kept in the archives of the Monmouthshire Beacon Office in Monnow Street, Monmouth – there for your perusal.
They have been written to our local paper these past few months to express our views on the subject of the market.
In order to gain insight into these views, you simply need to read these letters as part of your evidence-finding exercise, as was suggested during the meeting on 18th April.
Maybe you have already done it?
If not, or if you can't spare the time, let me know by letter or email please, and I will do it for you.
To keep saying you are not aware of our views is not helpful.
On a more personal note: do you live in (or near) Monmouth, or do your shopping here?
I'm intrigued as to why you seem so adamant that the car park at the bottom end of Monmouth is a better venue for our market than the square outside the Shire Hall.
Mrs E Williams
(Monmouth)
