MONMOUTH Carnival is back for another year running promising an exciting day full of free family entertainment with this year’s theme of “On the Farm”.

The carnival, taking place on Chippenham Fields is an annual event which brings hundreds of people from the town and surrounding areas for a fun parade as well as a range of activities, stalls and displays throughout the afternoon.

It is being held in Monmouth on Sunday June 28 and will feature many acts, including: Duck Race Procession, The Welsh Axemen, The Quack Pack and a Diomond Dolly Tribute Act.

The carnival is in partnership with Monmouth Town Council and is supported by a variety of other organisations, businesses and clubs.

Last year’s theme was Heroes and Villains and it saw thrilling entertainment from Starship Troopers and a BMX stunt display as well as successful lineup of supercars and vintage vehicles.

At the carnival there was a variety of interactive, fun entertainment, including: craft and music tents, games and competitions, food and drink stalls as well as live music entertainment.

The Battle of the Bands performed their final at the carnival last year, and included performers like Misha & the Kings, Superhouse, Four Act Riot and Fake Fame and in the U18s category it featured talent from HZRD and Hillsy, all contributing to the excitement and lively fun brought to the day.

Besides the Battle of the Bands the uplifting carnival also brought together music performed by an array of talented musicians across the area who took to the stage and shared their best skills. Some of the musicians who were headlining at the event included: Kira Mac a rock band with a lead singer Rhiannon Hill who was on The Voice UK in 2022 and turned Will-i-am’s chair in a matter of seconds.
