Cherry Vann, Archbishop of Wales and Bishop of Monmouth, invites you to a concert of popular music given by the Monmouth Male Voice choir and the Cwmbran Baroque Singers.
The Gala Concert will be held in Newport Cathedral on Saturday 13 June starting at 7.30pm. As well as being an enjoyable evening of choral music, the funds raised will go towards enabling Tymawr Convent, near Monmouth, to become fully accessible with disabled parking, accessible entry to the chapel and library and a fully accessible toilet. The Sisters of Tymawr, an Anglican convent, have been raising funds for over 2 years to make their rambling Victorian house accessible.
The Reverend Mother, Sister Katharine, says “Our building has many steps and stairs inside and out, which are a barrier to those unable to manage them, so we have approved plans to change the access. We want to welcome everyone to our service at noon every day or who wants a quiet retreat staying several days. We are grateful for the Archbishop’s support for the work, which we hope to start this year.” Concert tickets are available via the QR code on www.tymawrconvent.org, from choir members and pay on the door.
