FOUR eras of policing were 'on patrol' at Caldicot Castle last weekend as part of a re-enactment celebration.

More than 1,000 re-enactors from all over the country and beyond came together to relive their particular favourite period in history over the bank holiday weekend.

There were Vikings and Viet-Cong, Native Americans and Russian troops, Anzacs, WW1 and WW2 regiments, all living under canvas in the country park, eating, drinking and fighting using the tools and skills of their era.

Living history group, the Ragged Victorians, brought the street life of Victorian cities to the

castle drawbridge.
