PUPILS from Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls school took part in a street-dance master class at Diversity’s Essex studio on Tuesday 26th April, as part of a prize for winning their school an energy makeover worth up to £100,000.

Last summer, the youngsters were crowned winners in the Generation Green Welsh final. British Gas will transform the school with state-of-the-art energy-saving technology, and as part of their prize, Diversity’s Jordan and Perri invited pupils to their studio to learn some high-energy dance moves.

During the competition, pupils performed an energy-inspired dance, judged by Diversity’s Jordan and Perri, who awarded them points for their creativity, as well as the amount of energy they created on a special dance mat.

As Jordan and Perri were so impressed with the routine, they invited them to their Essex dance studio, where they were shown how to ‘body-pop’ as well as other high-energy moves.

Imogen Gray, a pupil from Haberdasher’s, said: “I’ve been looking forward to today so much. I’m doing my A-Levels this year so this has been a great break. “

Jordan and Perri added: “We were blown away by how much energy the kids had! We were so impressed by their routine at the Generation Green final, we had to get Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls along to our studio to learn some Diversity-style moves.

“It was great to see all the kids grow in such a short time and hope to hear from them in the future!”

British Gas will begin the school’s energy makeover later this year. It will be transformed with the latest energy-saving technology, which may include solar panels and LED lighting. The makeover could save the school up to £7,000 a year on its fuel bills.
