DIXTON Surgery in Monmouth has recently become a Teaching Practice providing training and experience to newly qualified doctors embarking on a career in general practice.
Dr Brian Harries and Dr Michael Visser are delighted to welcome Dr Lyndsey Thomas to their team who joins from the Accident and Emergency Department at Nevill Hall Hospital. Dr Thomas says she is looking forward to coming to Monmouth and experiencing care in a rural community.
Another clinical development for the practice has been the recent graduation of Practice Nurse Sister Christina Robson who has become the first Nurse Practitioner in Monmouthshire. Since completing her Honours Degree Sister Robson has held regular weekly surgeries at the practice as well as undertaking training commitments for Gwent Health authority and study work for the Monmouthshire Local Health Group.
Dr Harries is full of praise for Sister Robson. "Dr Visser and I congratulate her on obtaining this high level of clinical expertise and recognise that both our patients and ourselves are very fortunate to have her consulting in her new role at our practice."
