SIR, I was appalled to learn from the Beacon of the proposed development on the land at the end of Dixton Road.  We must fight this proposal. It would be an environmental disaster with not only noise and air pollution but also a huge litter problem, as bins are normally ignored.  At a time when the Welsh Assembly Government are endeavouring to make Wales residents more healthy, and particularly educate the young on healthy eating, how is it that a fast food outlet is being planned next to the comprehensive school? Does Monmouth need another pub? The town is very well served with at least 10 coffee shops, there is also an existing veterinary practice at the end of Dixton Road Monmouth Town Council and Monmouthshire County Council must listen to residents' views, and take them on board. I care about our beautiful market town, I wonder how many of the developers actually live in Monmouth.    Sandra Harvey (Monmouth)
