I am sure your readers will be disappointed to learn of the response from our main Monmouth supermarkets to my request to donate strawberries and cream to serve at my open garden.
It was a no from some of them, while others did not even bother to reply.
I am well aware of the help given to charities by these stores, but surely a small donation is not asking too much to help raise money for Alzheimer's carers and sufferers.
However, Lidl have offered to donate £10 worth of strawberries and Fabric Mills are donating several metres of fabric as a raffle prize. A big thank you to them.
