On behalf of the Monmouth Pubwatch scheme, it is with regret we find Monmouth Town Council is still not prepared to support CCTV cameras in Monmouth.

Monmouth Pubwatch was set up to control anti-social behaviour in licensed premises and has been successful in doing so.

At a recent meeting, members expressed disappointment that while they could curtail bad behaviour in their premises via the threat of a Pubwatch ban, a lot of problems occur in areas beyond their control.

The outcome of the meeting showed people felt CCTV cameras in the town would severely reduce criminal, violent and anti-social behaviour and strongly urged Monmouth Town Council to support the CCTV initiative.
