MONMOUTH Cricket Club's David Teague has finished runner-up in the divisional batting averages for the Crusader Worcestershire County League.
The former Newport and Llanarth all-rounder scored 621 runs in Division 2 last summer at an impressive average of 51.75.
Teague was pipped to the top batting spot by Coombs Wood's Indian professional Neeraj Chawla who hit 813 runs at an average of 58.07. Monmouth's Australian overseas player, Jamie Craig, also shone in the divisional averages, coming fifth with 504 runs at 42.
Craig was the highest-placed Monmouth player in the catches section, finishing fourth after snapping up eight catches.
Monmouth's players featured prominently in the end-of-season batting, bowling and fielding statistics released by the Worcestershire County League.
Jonathan Roberts was the fifth highest wicket-taker in the division and cemented sixth spot in the bowling averages after claiming 43 victims at 14.28.
Captain Dan Head was fifth in the dismissals' category, finishing with 14 victims, including nine catches and five stumpings.
Second-team wicket-keeper Jon Despontin capped an excellent season with the gloves by making the most dismissals in 2nd XI Division 2.
Despontin topped the divisional list with a total of 19 dismissals, including 10 catches and nine stumpings.
Teenager Josh Grey was the highest-placed Monmouth player in the 2nd XI Division 2 batting charts with 268 runs at an average of 33.50.
Jag Saran was one place below Grey, in 21st position, with 366 runs at an average of 30.50.
Dave Wilding finished with 17 wickets at a cost of 21.53 and was 15th in the 2nd XI Division 2 bowling averages. Idris Leonard was the second highest-placed Monmouth player in the section, coming 22nd with 18 wickets at an average 24.
