ABSEILING more than 50 meters from the Transporter Bridge is a daunting task but for 14-year-old Lucy George it was a breeze as she raised money for St David’s Hospice.

Lucy rappelled down the iconic bridge on Saturday 8th October for a charity which holds a special place in her family’s heart.

Lucy said: “When my grandpa had cancer he was able to spend his final days at home thanks to the amazing people at St Davids Hospice Care.”

It wasn’t all easy for Lucy, she noted the nerves of climbing so high, but in the end the descent was a highlight. She said: “It was really nice up there because you are so high up but then your nerves kick in.

“The hardest part was going up to the top but on the way down it was really fun. Once I got the the bottom I felt really proud that I had done it.”

Lucy was able to raise $355 for St Davids Hospice Care and while it was a stunt she may never forget, it was the cause it was for that really mattered.

“It was really exciting but it was amazing to be doing something for a good cause.”

Lucy is still taking donations, to donate visit the website www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Debbie-George1
