Daniel Morgan, pictured centre, a Year 11 student at Monmouth Comprehensive who was injured in an accident at Monmouth Leisure Centre, returned to school on 12th December to have lunch with his Tutor Group and also meet with the Chair of Governors.

Daniel's mum, Mrs Harries, also came with him and had lunch with the students. Daniel was very pleased to be back at school and said that he was "a little bored at home". Daniel was able to tell fellow students about all the things that had happened at hospital and how he is making a fantastic recovery. Daniel said his friends had been wonderful, coming to visit him at hospital and at home. Daniel and his mum wished to thank everyone at the Leisure Centre and the school who had supported him and the support from the whole community.

Daniel, it is hoped, can return to school on a full time basis after Christmas and prepare to take a starring role in the forthcoming school production of Bugsy Malone. Daniel is playing the role of the Janitor. For this role Daniel had wanted to perform a 'tap dance' and had been taking extra coaching. Daniel is still hoping to 'tap dance' but, as he said, "it may involve a crutch, a leg brace and just one tap shoe!"
