Usk cricketer and Old Monmothian Tony Kear completed a hat-trick of London Marathons last weekend, raising a further £2,448.77 for St Anne's Hospice.In three years, he has raised more than £10,000, including gift aid, for the Newport-based charity.This year Tony managed this year to complete the course in four hours and 25 minutes, a personal best despite the heat and humidity – and beating last year by 15 minutes."The Virgin London Marathon is quite unique with an incredible build up and atmosphere on the day, especially with the remarkable support from the spectators and fellow runners," said Tony."Having to get a bus to the start line at Greenwich from the hotel at 6.15am for a 9.45am start was a bit of a shock and the heat and humidity on the day made it more challenging but equally rewarding."
