A generous Monmouth couple asked for donations to a forces charity for their 50th wedding anniversary – and raised over £800.

Lorrie and Barbara Cutter decided they didn't want any presents to celebrate their special day and asked instead for friends and family to make a donation to Help for Heroes.

Lorrie served for 24 years in the army and the cause is one that is close to their hearts.

"We thought maybe we could raise £300 or £400 but to raise over £800 was fantastic," he said.
