MONMOUTHSHIRE County Council (MCC) has withdrawn its pest control service taking effect from Tuesday 1st April following a decision made last month.
Pest control services were cut following a requirement to make savings of £9m during the financial year 2014/15.
Residents who require a pest control service are now required to search the Yellow Pages, look in their local newspaper or go online to find an alternative.
The council has set aside a contingency sum of £10,000 to assist residents in undertaking pest control investigations where the cause of the problem may not be readily apparent. The council has recorded its thanks to contractors P&P Pest Control who supplied its services to the MCC.
