MONMOUTH AM David Davies has called a series of meetings to discuss this year's increase in Council Tax.
The public meeting in Monmouth will be at the old youth centre at the Leisure Centre, at 7.30 pm on Monday, April 2nd.
Meetings will also take place over the coming weeks in Chepstow and Usk. Mr Davies is calling for Monmouthshire tax payers to attend one of the meetings to learn the facts behind the increase.
"I want to get the message across that this year's increase is a result of a change to the system of allocating money to local councils, forced through by the Assembly's Lib-Lab executive, and not the fault of Monmouthshire County Council," he said.
"As the bills drop through the letterbox there is a great deal of outrage, and rightly so. I want to ensure the outrage is targeted at the right people, so I have called this series of public meetings to set out the facts and let Monmouthshire tax payers have their say."
