Community groups have been given a boost with a grant from Monmouth Town Council's Community

Support Scheme.

19 bodies were handed a cheque by the town's mayor, Councillor Jeana Hall, at the Shire Hall Monday night (10th March) following applications to the committee.

The successful applicants were; Homemakers, £250; Monmouth Army Cadets, £400; Monmouth Civic Society, £200; Ross and Monmouth Sea Cadets, £400; Monmouth Male Voice Choir, £500; Wyesham Community Group, £500; Monmouth Photographic Club, £500; Home-start Monmouth, £500; Busy Bees Toddler Group, (Wyesham community garden), £500; Savoy Youth Theatre, £750; Nelson Garden Preservation Trust, £500; Monmouth Waldbronn Twinning Association, £500; Monmouth Town FC, £500; 1st Wyesham Scout group, £750; Monmouth Cricket Club, £500; Action 50 Plus, £750; Buckholt Village Hall, £600; Bridges Youth Committee, £90; Monmouth Women's Festival, £600.

Grants were awarded to fund up to 75 per cent of each project.
