SIR, The Monmouth Town Council Planning Committee will hold a public meeting about the Dixton Road retail development starting at 7pm on Monday 9th February at Monmouth Comprehensive School hall. An application is expected shortly for the the Portal Road hotel development (behind the petrol station). There is a public meeting about the Hadnock Road hotel development to be held at the Shire Hall during the day on Saturday 7th February. Also, a Monmouth Town Council (MTC) planning committee meeting, which is open to the public, will also be having a presentation at 6.30pm on 16th February at the Shire Hall. An application is expected this summer. With regards to the Monmouth Comprehensive School re-development, an application is expected shortly. The Rockfield Road retail development has been recommended for approval by MTC planning committee. Monmouth County Council's (MCC) planning committee will make its decision at a future meeting following the completion of a tree report. The Gateway Project (new public square by Monnow Bridge), approved by MTC, is awaiting decision by MCC. For the Hillcrest Road (Wyesham) housing development, recommended for refusal by MTC, there is an outstanding contamination report due before MCC will take the final decision. The Wonastow Housing Development has not received outline permission by MTC but it was passed by MCC. However, the site still requires full planning permission which has not been received to date.
