A special celebration marked the 209th anniversary of Admiral Lord Nelson's visit to Monmouth last Friday (19th August).

The Nelson Garden resounded to songs and poetry in his honour.

Performers Nye Hughes, Welsh television actor and resident of Monmouth, and Ian Dollins, baritone and organist of St Mary's Priory Church, gave a splendid concert.
