Monmouth Methodist Church had the first same sex church marriage in on a sunny Saturday, July 12th.

Over 100 friends and family gathered to support Constance Morris and Zoe Sarjant on their special day, Rev Bethany Willers, Superintendent Minister of the Newport and Lower Wye Methodist Circuit, officiated.

The Methodist Church has two side aisles, and the girls were brought to the front by their respective mothers, Jayne Morris and Ally Sarjant. Four hymns were chosen; How great Thou art, In Christ alone, Amazing Grace, and Be Thou my vision

Monmouth Methodist Church was the first church of any denomination in Monmouthshire to be registered for same sex marriage. Caldicot Methodist Church has subsequently registered.
