Members of Ross-in-Bloom were thrilled to learn they had been awarded not just Gold for the town but a special Certificate of Merit for the promotion of Neighbourhoods from the Royal Horticultural Society when they travelled to Burton on Trent for the Heart of England in Bloom awards ceremony on Thursday, September 11th.

The group set off in high spirits in the WRVS mini bus and enjoyed a delicious lunch with specially chosen beers. Then they waited in great anticipation for the awards. However as awards were given out they began to wonder if they had done as well as they hoped. When the announcements were made Margaret Lucas, Chairman of Ross-in-Bloom said:"Our table was the noisiest one in the room, and the Mayor of Warwick said she had never seen such pleasure on anyone's face."
