Community groups have been given a boost with a grant from Monmouth Town Council's Community Support Scheme.

15 bodies were handed a cheque by the town's deputy mayor, Councillor Jeana Hall at the Shire Hall Monday night (18th February) following applications to the committee.

The successful applicants were; Two River Meadows group; Mobility Monmouth; Monmouth and Ross Sea Cadets; Bereavement Support Group; Homemakers; The Nelson Garden; Heritage Trail; Civic Society; Wye Valley Arts Association; Savoy Theatre; Monmouth Tea Dance, and Carbonne Twinning, who all recieved amounts up to a maximum of £750.

The groups had to match the grant by 25% from their own funds.
