Following on from a successful Beacon appeal, the efforts of the outgoing management committee, local users and residents of the Rockfield Estate Community Centre, is set to continue under a new name.

A new group of trustees have set up a charity to continue running the centre as the Rockfield Park Community Centre with the same community access and focus that has always been at its heart.

A meeting will be held this Sunday, 14th January at 2pm at the centre. This meeting will be for all volunteers, the local community and centre users.

Resident and centre user Nicky Jameson, one of the first trustees to fight for the centre to remain open will chair the meeting and the agenda will include an appeal for help still needed to efficiently run the centre.

Feedback from volunteers and users will be sought and an official thanks to the outgoing team led by Terry Christopher will be given.
