SIR,
I am amazed to find that Monmouthshire County Council's (MCC) communications skills have not improved.
After advising your readers of David Davies MP's letter, sent in mid August to MCC's chief executive officer, in which he asked some very searching questions regarding the council's actions over the sale of Meend Farm, Penallt, it appears that despite the requirement for public servants to respond to MP's letters within a strict time frame, MCC have found it either too difficult or embarrassing to comply.
This means numerous people, who have been in correspondence with Mr Davies, are not in a position to advise the public of the contents of this reply.
Another concerning detail of the matter is there has been no comment from Monmouth's elected AM Nick Ramsay, who is obviously not concerned that a number of his electorate have questioned the integrity of MCC's senior management team and its handling of this matter.
I hope people will have noticed his reluctance to get involved in areas of concern within the Monmouth area and this be reflected at the next Assembly election.
Hopefully we will have a candidate put forward that is up to the job of representing us, as David Davies has shown himself to be.
Incidentally I did not notice a reduction in our council tax demands, in this period of MCC's generosity, but then we are not celebrities.
Not forgetting the councillor's need to improve their own financial positions when compared to neighbouring Herefordshire, which is geographically bigger and covered by less members.
