A Chepstow man has been arrested following the death of a motorcyclist in a crash on the A449 last Saturday (21st June). The collision happened on the northbound carriageway at about 11.15am and involved involved a black convertible Z4 BMW car and a white Kawasaki sports motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been named as 60 year old Kevin Morgan from Cwmbran. The driver of the BWM, a 32-year-old man from Chepstow, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen these vehicles in the areas of the Southern Distributor Road, Coldra roundabout/ junction 24 of the M4, or the A449 in the lead up to the collision. The BMW was driving with its roof down. Anyone who may have seen these vehicles in the locations mentioned around 11am on Saturday morning, 21st June, is asked to call 101 quoting log 202 21/06/14.
