A crash on the A48 in Chepstow has caused traffic chaos around the town today (Friday 3rd August).

Police were called at 9.55am to a report of a collision at Hardwick Hill involving a silver Citreon C3 and a blue Ford Focus.

The female driver and passenger travelling in the Citreon were taken to Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital with leg injuries which are described as not life threatening.

The road remains closed while emergency services are in attendance and vehicles are recovered.
