A CHEPSTOW-based group is up for an national award that could reward them with £25,000.

Street Life Sarnies (SLS) started in July 2014 making 180-200 weekly sandwich packs and now provide up to 20 source points including homeless hostels, safe houses and rough sleeper projects vital resources in crisis.

The group of volunteers provide support for homeless projects, centres and outreach teams across south Wales and Bristol, and now are in with the chance of scooping the prize at the Britain Has Spirit (BHS) awards.

After winning the regional awards, the voting is now open nationwide for less than two weeks, with a prize of £25,000 for the winning group.

An awards ceremony with Gabby Logan will take place on the 25th September in central London.
