A 12 year-old has had her dream fulfilled after recording a song at Rockfield Studios, Monmouth. Charlie Matthews, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, spent four hours in the world famous studio where Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody with the help of the Follow your Dreams charity, and the support of Rockfield’s music technician Tim last Friday (29th April).
Charlie, from Bristol, is a young ambassador at Follow your Dreams. She was accompanied by her mother, Sarah, and Liz Whitaker from the charity.
Sarah said: “Originally she wanted to enter a beauty pageant, and Follow your Dreams sponsored her entrance two years ago. She was the third highest score in the pageant, and has gone on to model in America three times, and even walked in Paris Fashion Week.
“She has a dream to be a singer, and so Follow you Dreams has organised this opportunity.
“Without their support she wouldn’t have experienced any of this.
“She says her goal in life is to show other children with conditions such as hers that they can achieve their dreams, that it is harder but not impossible.
“The next step is that Charlie hopes to make a music video to go alongside the song, and release it to raise money for charity.”
