SIR,

The Alzheimer's Society exists to champion the rights of everyone with dementia in the UK, but not enough services are provided to meet their needs.

Dementia can happen to anyone and there is currently no cure. But with the right support, people can live well with dementia throughout the condition.

Our vision is of a radically improved world for people with dementia. A world, ultimately, where dementia can be defeated.

The generous support that Alzheimer's Society receives allows us to continue providing services which act as a lifeline to thousands of people living with dementia.

The society is eager to get people involved in raising money, and throughout the year we stage a variety of events to help us achieve this aim.

On Friday 27th and Saturday 28th May we have the opportunity to collect money outside Tesco stores throughout the country.

We are asking for people who would be willing to give a little time (ideally a three hour session) to help us with this at Tesco in Chepstow.

To volunteer please either visit our website alzheimers.org.uk or telephone the local office of the Alzheimer's Society on 01600 719127.

To find out more about the services provided by the Alzheimer's visit the website, telephone the local office or call our National Helpline on 08453000336.
