A horse rescue centre in the Wye Valley has responded to rumours it is about to shut its doors.
A statement released by the Horse and Pony Protection Association (HAPPA) said the charity "would like to confirm that despite growing local speculation, they are not yet in a position to confirm or deny suggestions relating to their future at Gregory Farm".
Chief officer Kay Brandist asked for "a little patience" and has promised to issue a full press release as soon as possible.
"While I understand speculation is rife and that imagined scenarios are being shared and embellished I really cannot provide an accurate statement at this time," she said.
"I can confirm that HAPPA have been considering various options for at least two years and that until internal processes are complete, no final decisions will be made.
"Public pressure will not force me into compromising these processes and I ask local residents to respect this. As soon as there is news to share, we will notify all concerned through appropriate channels including local media.
"I can also confirm that a number of horses have been transferred to our Northern Rescue Centre at Shores Hey Farm, near Burnley, Lancashire, for operational reasons.
"We expect to retain approx. 18 equines at the Brockweir site over the winter period subject to adequate staffing being available."
